Something we all need to be wary of is that there’ve been a ton of wordpress sites hacked recently.
This is hugely connected to themes and plugins added to the system, not WordPress itself
Some Tools to protect yourself
wordpress firewall 2 – detects & blocks hack attempts (notifications)
secure wp – monitors a wide range of activity on your sites and reports suspicious activity
Before your site is hacked or your server crashes or whatever you might not appreciate the need to back, but you will after!
backupbuddy – back the entire thing, files and all and move it to any server (my favourite plugin)
managewp – manage, backup, move, etc all yours wp sites from one place
W3 Total Cache & WP Super Cache are great tools to speed up your site
analytics & seo
There are a range of plugins to assist with getting google to know you better as well as getting to know your visitors better.
And now I know I’m zonked cause I can’t finish this post!
